Passengers: Jon and Ginny Oshel

Another day of a last minute launch site moves. When I got up and looked at the morning weather the winds had again shifted. Last night I called for the West Salem site but an early call to the gang and passengers and we meet at one of the Keizer sites. Today we have another Birthday flight and it looks to be a great day to play, clear as a bell. The gang get to work on putting up the balloon and we have a new crewman via EriK, Sean O’Connor and welcome to the “gang”. The balloon is standing and I call for the passengers to board and it looks like a good day to do Cecil’s orientation flight. He will get us off the ground and take us to theriver. He is doing well with heat management so I tell him to try a “water landing” and he does very well, just the first couple of inches of the basket get wet. We are into the edge of farm country in West Salem for a few minutes and again cross the trees onto the river and another chance for close look at the water, not wet, just look. Cecil is doing very well as we are again in Salem. The drift carries us south for a bit then again swings to the west as we get to North Park and will again cross the river (#3) Back into West Salem again as we will head to Wallace Park for the landing today. The gang gets to the parking lot and some “boots” hit the ground as I take over for the shot. Cecil will have a chance next time to park. The gang gets us bagged and we get the “sit” done then off to the boat ramp for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

Jon & Ginny: “This was a great Birthday Present! A very quiet, beautiful and calming ride. Thank you very much.”
