Passengers: Sam Hart, Stewart Nichol, Susan & Scott Nichol

Happy Birthday…again, this seems to be the year for them. Today it is Stewart and it is fall so the weather is always a concern. I call for West Salem and we do have patchy fog around town as I drive to the site but it is just that PATCHY! When we get to the church the ceiling is moving up and down as we get the balloon out on the parking lot and start the pump-up. I put the heat to Starship and it is up and ready for the passengers to get on board. I get the briefing done and we are off the lot with great visibility to the northeast. We have patches of fog in the area but we are heading to the northeast and for the moment it is clear that way. We continue and move across the river toward Keizer and the fog starts to thicken up then thin out so I am looking for a spot to land and get out of this “mess” complements of Mother Nature. I spot a hole so I drop through it and have the “gang” on the ground at Courthouse Fitness in Keizer and that will be the LZ today. I work us across the roof to a lot on the north side then toss the rope to the and the guys pull us to the lot. We are next to a driveway so the deflate has to work around the traffic. We get the balloon down and draw a lot of lookie-loos in the process. Starship is in the bag and we head back to West Salem for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

Sam: “ Jim, always a treat to fly with you!”
Stewart: “Many thanks”.
Scott: “What fun!”
Susan: “A beautiful way to great the day.”

A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
