Passengers: Amanda Puetz, Scott Aarestad, Kevin Walker, Tim McBride

Today is a “SPECIAL” day for all concerned, passengers, crew and pilot. It’s the wedding flight for Amanda & Scott. We have a bit of “maintenance” to do before the flight so Cecil dives under the envelope to get a wire threaded through a sleeve that had been repaired, a “sooty” job and thanks. We get the balloon filled and I call for the passengers to join me in the basket and soon we are off the tarmac and drifting to the southwest. I have selected our Brooks launch site a private airport that is in the heart of hop country. The plan is to fly out into the farm country then gain some altitude for the wedding ceremony that I will perform in a couple of segments returning to altitude after each segment. The firing of the burners makes conversation a bit hard to hear over. To capture the “entire flight” we have dreamed up a new way to mount a movie camera to the basket, and it does well. I get Scott and Amanda “tied together” and proceed on with the flight. The track takes us off the farm country and we skirt the west edge of Keizer, will cross the river and enter into West Salem. We pass by Mark’s house as we come over the golf course in Salem Town as I search for a workable spot to land this morning. I have a couple of options, two churches’ that are balloon friendly it will depend on the drift at tree top as to which will be the one. It will be the LDS church parking lot for us this morning after I clear the trees we are caught by the “gang” and set gently on the lot. We get the air out and the bag “sit” is done with style so we return to Brooks for the after flight celebration.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

Amanda: “Awesome flight for our special day. Wonderful experience, great time was had by all!”
Scott: “Thanks for a awesome adventure! It couldn’t have gone better, what a great time!
Tim: “Great flight, great story, great breakfast and great company!
Kevin: “Thank you very much! This was terrific experience all the way around! Thanks for getting my buddy married!”

A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
