Passengers: Sydney Schorsch, Courtney O’Neill, Michelle & Jon McDermeit,

We are really into a solid summer pattern so again we are out in Brooks, complements of the Weathers Family. The winds are non-existent as the sun peeks over the trees and burns off the thin layer of “tree fog”. We get the balloon out of the bag and pumped up as the passengers get organized and checked in. I put in the heat and we are standing so it is time to load up the passengers. We slip down the runway as Sydney starts to settle down as we head out over the hops toward the south at an easy pace. We are over the crops for a bit then move toward the Knife river operation gravel pit. We move out to the south with a push to the west again, like yesterday. I try several heights looking for anything that will carry me more east and to better LZ’s. We are coming into Keizer and I’m still pretty high with a track to the south. I have to drop lower and hope that the low wind is slow so I can get into the Willow Lake area for a good LZ. We have several small harvested wheat fields and I’m looking to get into one as our landing spot for today. I miss four of these fields as the tree top breeze is all over the map. I have one more shot and call the gang for some help with a drop line to get me off a crop and to a wheat field next door. This stubble is a BEAR to work in but it beats crossing the river. We get the balloon in the bag and the passengers do the “sit” for us, we load and get back to Brooks for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

PASSENGER COMMENTS:
Michelle: “Someone who is afraid of heights I did well an ready to do it again.”
Courtney: “I had a blast, a chance in a lifetime! Thank you so much.”
Sydney: “Thank you so much for this wonderful experience, I was so surprised by how calm the float was. After five tries it was well worth it.”

A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Scott, Hunter, Ryan & Di
