Passengers: Mark Palmer, Kaia Canfield, Sue & Eric Borst

Well summer is really here and we meet again in the Brooks area as the winds are still holding out of the north. We get the balloon pumped up and standing tall then I call for the passengers to get on board. We are off the field heading to the west at a easy pace. The winds are light as we head out over the hops and on to the gravel operation at Knife River. This is a standard track for us this year as we cross over the pond then off into the farm country and all the crops that are getting closer to being harvested. I go high and have way to much speed so drop down low again to slow down and we will play in the farm land for a bit more. We come into the urban area of Keizer with a bit of a drift more to the east which is good today as we have better LZ’s in that direction. The “gang” stages in a parking lot at a church we use and I set the shot but get pushed off and will miss this one. The gang loads up and once again is on the move to the next LZ downwind. I have spotted number 2 LZ a field next to the Salem Hospital Care Center in Keizer. I have to reset the shot twice to get the right track but the gang is there and we will be too. We are down and the gang gets ready to drop the balloon and get the deflate started. We get the balloon ready for the bag and then get the passengers to do the sit. We get the gear loaded up and head back to the airport for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

Sue: “Up, up and away!”
Eric: “In my beautiful balloon!”
Kaia: “Enjoyed the stories, beautiful scenery and lovely breakfast!”
Mark: “Great, thanks!”

A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
