Passengers: Jackie Nicholson, Renee Alvarado

The winds have shifted around to the south west so I call everyone at about 5 AM and have them move to our West Salem site. It is a “private” flight today so I will have a light load. We get the balloon out and pumped up and soon I call for the passengers to climb on board. With a bit of heat we are off the field and head out to the south then a nice little hook over Wallace Road and into the rural are before the river. We drift over the gravel pit then on toward the river at a pace faster than was forecast. We cross over theriver into Keizer at the end of Shoreline and then into Keizer waking up all the doggies. The track has straightened out and we are heading pretty much due north heading past the lake and the golf course toward the bottoms. Once in the bottoms we slow down, as I had hoped and I start looking for a LZ (landing zone) for today. I spot Clear Lake and the fields behind it are owned by the Doug Zielinski and he is “balloon friendly”. I set the shot for the bean fields and grass seed behind the tree line around the lake and as we clear the trees I’m over the beans with a bit of a drift toward the open grass field. I set us down on the grass seed field just as the gang come onto the field. The boys get us pulled down and we get deflated as the passengers check out the activity. We have the gals do the bag sit and we load up to head back for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

Jackie: “You have the best sense of humor, ever! Your crew is fantastic! Thank you so much for all you did!”
Renee: “Thanks for the ride, it was awesome and beautiful.”

A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
