Passengers: Cheryl Tangreen &Terri Jensen, Betty Holden & Mindi Terrell

Today it is back to Brooks as the winds are holding true to summertime tracks. I have a concern about the heat low building so I call the meeting time a bit early and we start out in the dark as we meet and start the inflation. We get the balloon pumped up and standing tall ready for the passengers to get on board. We get the south drift off the tarmac and over the hops to the Knife River operation. The sun finally wakes up and with all the wild fires in the east it’s a bright orange one as we hang over the lake and get a nice reflection shot. We move out past the pit and into the farm country for a bit then it’s on toward the urban area. We will spent some time on the edge of town as I pass a couple of nice LZ’s but still have some time on the flight. We are getting close to yesterday’s LZ but are just a bit to the east. I call for the “gang” to move to the park as I have a great track to them. The parking lot will be the spot today and as soon as I clear the lines next to the road I send a line to the guys and they pull us into the lot. We get the balloon down and the deflate started then the pack is started. The passengers get the “sit” done and we get loaded up and head back north for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
