Back up and ready for a four day “blast” (for days in a row of flying) and I call for the south site but after looking at the pi-ball I see that the winds shifted to a westerly flow so I move us our west site and we get the gear out and the boys do there “throat” job. When we get Starship filled up and standing it is time to board the passengers. We lift off and head out to the east with a slight push to the north across Wallace and Somerset Heights and toward the gravel operation. Then it is on to the river and we get a bit of a shove to the north so we will “play” here for a while, even get our feet wet too! I get us a bit close to the tree line so I hit the heat and we pop up a bit and get the push again to the east and are over Front Street and spot the “gang” waiting for us on the road. We head on into Salem/ Keizer as we continue to the northeast. We pass over the new Capitol Chev shop and Home depot both good LZ’s but we are off track for a shot. The hour is coming to an end and all I can find for LZ’s are un-workable. I continue north on River Road and the gang follows along as I look for a workable spot to park. We have two on line and the first will work if the “gang” there for a drop line. The light changes in time and I get a line down to them on the Safeway lot in Keizer. It is a classic “capture” and we are on the ground in a couple of minutes. We start the deflate and the boys do a “roll” to get the air out. The passengers do the sit for us and we load up for the trip back to Wallace for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
