Passengers: Cathi Watson, Kali & Tiana Watson
Today is a treat to the Grandchildren from a very loving “grandmother”. Cathi wants to take the two girls up for a balloon ride even though they are both still pretty young for the experience. I call for one of our Keizer launch sites as the wind forecast is for light out of the northwest. We use the parking lot for the set up and Cecil takes the “girls into the balloon through the vent for a close look-see. We are off the lot as the sun peeks through the trees and we are off to the southeast at an easy pace. This park is right on the river close to the bend and we skirt over it but will stay on the east side so the “gang” will be happy for not having to hit the bridges downtown today. We do “shag” out some geese as we pass overhead and swing into Keizer proper. Grandmother is really concerned about her “chicks” too but they handle the flight with ease. We drift toward River Road and the “gang” stage on the bowling pin for a photo op. The gang gets back on the road and I have spotted the LZ for this morning, it will be the open field on the north side of the Oregon Deaf School. We slip into the nice and easy and the “gang” is there for the catch. With some help from the passengers we get the balloon deflated and in the bag. We load up and head back to the park for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Cathi: “Thank you for such a ‘soft’ ride! Tiana “Thank you for the balloon ride, it was amazing and I had a blast. The ride was the adventure of a lifetime!” Kali: “I think so too!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
