Passengers: Kathleen & Craig Howlett
Another Birthday flight today that will start out at our west launch site and will wind up in Keizer. The gang gets the gear out and the balloon pumped up. We are ready for the passengers to board and with some heat and “help” from the twins we are off the lot and on our merry way to the east and a slight push to the north. We pass over the berry fields and they are picking this morning so we will get a close look at the machines that do that job today. It is then over the tree line and onto the river then we cross into the edge of the Keizer community for the remainder of the flight. I call the first LZ shot for Kennedy School and the gang stages there but the wind shifts s bit when I get low for the shot and we miss the first one. The next LZ shot will be the Keizer Little League Fields and that I can make with a little help from some “soft” tree tops for a break. Lucky for us the grounds superintendent, Troy is on the job today so the gang gat get past the locked gate. We get the balloon deflated, tied up and in the bag for the return trip back to the park for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Kathleen: “A fun ride and nice view of the river, berry fields and Keizer. Thanks for all the interesting info, jokes and a Happy Birthday for Craig.” Craig: “Thanks so much for a great ride…loved the landing and the tree!!
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
