Passengers: Kevin & Sierra Lewandowski, Ben & Angel Payne
Another birthday flight today, it seems that it’s all we have done lately. I call for the Brooks site as the wind is still out of the north. The gang get the balloon out and prepared for the fan to pump it up. I call for the passengers to climb on in and soon we are ready for launch. We clear the tarmac and drift off to the south toward the ponds at Knife River. The fog coming off the water gives us a great eclipse shot of the umbrae, a double rainbow effect. We break out of the fog and get a bit of a shove from the east which will carry us across the “bottoms” for the first section of the flight. We creep along past the dairy then cross over the ridge into Keizer. I pick the landing zone for today, Forest Ridge School but miss the shot to the east. I have a shot, again at the housing area just past the school. I make the shot and the gang is there for the drop line and we are again on the street for the take down. The passengers get the “bag sit” done and head out for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Ben & Angel: “What a great Birthday present! Very relaxing and we will defiantly do this again!” Sierra: “It was so much fun, I have never done anything like it!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
