September 23, 2012 Passengers: Starla Hirschkorn, Lisa Bartel, Susan Anguiano, Rick Cole We meet at City Hall in Keizer but after letting out a pi-ball I move us to the Waconda Road site for a bit more room. We get the balloon out and stuff some air into it as the passengers get some photos of the operations. I get “Starship” standing and have the passengers get on board, add a little heat and we are off the tarmac and the “adventure” begins. We cross over the ponds at Knife River and then hook to the east and come out over the tree farm and get a look at all the fall color changes that are taking place. The “gang” is on the chase, well sitting waiting for us as we come up on Brooklake Road. We have really slow winds this morning so we won’t make it into Keizer. I call the gang and have them move to Dr. V’s grass field that we were in last month as that will be the LZ (landing zone) for this morning. I set the shot and the boys are on the field waiting for us. We get air out, the fabric tucked and the bag “sit” is done. We load up and head back for the picnic. I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
