Passengers: Laura & Chris Conly, Toni Wilkinson, Ed Haag
The winds have slid back to a more normal fall pattern so we move to the north site out in Brooks. We have a beautiful morning with nice blue skies and a fun bunch to play with today. The “gang” gets the balloon pumped up and I add some heat and we are standing and ready for the passengers to come on board. We are off the tarmac and drift slowly down the runway toward the ponds at Knife River. The temptation to get our feet wet is too much so I do a little dip in the water as we cross over the Blue Heron’s nesting site in the cottonwoods. We drift past the Willamette tree farm then over the “gang” as we cross over Brook Lakeroad. It’s over the “empty” hop fields then the blue berry nursery which they are harvesting today. It is time to find a parking spot for today so I call for the fields around the day care farm. The “caravan” moves to the field and I set the shot for the landing. The gang gets the balloon deflated, tagged and the passengers get the “sit” done. We loadup and head back to Finney for the picnic. I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Ed: “The trip was awesome!” Toni: “Amazing, I will be back!” Laura: “Unbelievable, so calm and relaxing with a wonderful day!” Chris: “Would not miss it for the world, the trip adds a whole new perspective!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
