Passengers: Yuri, Helena Zaichenko, Anna, Tony Pugach
We are again out at the Brooks site and have another beautiful sunrise to welcome us. The gang gets the gear off the truck and laid out for the inflation process. We get the balloon pumped up and once standing I call for the passengers to come on board. We lift off the field and drift off to the southwest for a bit. The track is more west than forecast and a bit slower so I start climbing to look for some “steerage” to get us toward Keizer and more ‘convenient” LZ’s. I spend the next few minutes at altitude looking for some more south push but Mother Nature is not in the mood. I decide to drop down low and see if I can find some south and I do. We are past the pond and over some orchards but the hook south goes away in a short time and we are again heading toward the river. We will stay low for a bit as the passengers get a “close” look at the crops in this area. The hour is close to an end and we have VERY FEW spots to park out here so I call for the gang to move to a recently harvested grass field as the LZ today. Once over the orchard we are on the field and get the balloon deflated and then the passengers do the sit. We head back to Finney Lake for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Anna, Tony, Yuri, Helena: “Thank you for a wonderful flight! Today we celebrated two birthdays, thanks for making it memorable!!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
