Passengers: Karen Nixon, Denise Vertz, (bride) Phil Crunk (groom) Robert Raymond
Today is the SPECIAL day for Denise and Phil and it looks like Mother Nature has added her approval. I call for the west site as our starting point and all meet in the lot at the church. The gang gets the balloon out and assembled and we get the heat in and I call for the passengers to climb on in. The boys get to work on the camera’s and a bit more heat and we are off the lot. As we look back there are a LOT of cameras clicking away. We drift north for a bit then hook over Wallace Rd and head out to the ponds at the Cemex gravel operation. I drop a little altitude to get the “reflection” shot then back up over the trees and cross the river into Keizer. The “kids” have requested to get the ceremony in early so they can “relax” and enjoy the ride so I gain some altitude so we can conduct the “I do’s” in the quiet. We are drifting over Keizer at about twenty five hundred feet when the “deed” is done. I let us cool some and we drop back down to “viewing” altitude to drop the BANNER and let all know on the ground that it’s OFFICIAL! We are out into farm country so I have lots of LZ’s (landing zones) available. The crops are off the fields so I pull up the banner and call for the “gang” to meet us at a cleaned wheat field. I set the shot and the gang is in the field for the catch and landing. The passengers are unloaded and the gang gets us packed up and we have the passengers do the “sit”. We load up and head back to the park for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Denise & Phil: “What an awesome way to get married!”
Today the gals PROVED that the old “bug-a-boo” about wearing RED shoes in a hot air balloon is bad luck?…..NOPE….nope…nope!!! Great flight, fun passengers and Mother Nature was smiling all morning.
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
