We are again back at the Brooks site and the pi-ball shows us that the winds are light this morning as we have a small front moving up the valley from the south. The gang gets the gear out and hooked up, the cold air pumped in and Cecil adds the heat for us. Once we are standing we get the passengers on board and we are off the tarmac and on our way. We slip over the hops, then toward the ponds at Knife River for a little dip for our friends from Brazil. We drift over the dike and into the pond next door where the boys are on the pond repairing a broken pipe today. We cross over Brooklake and I notice the we have a rain cloud coming at us out of south Salem. I call Cecil on the radio and he takes a look at the radar on his I-phone and we have maybe 30 minutes If it holds this track. I have a friendly field ahead and I have them pull into the field as we clear the trees on the north side. We get down and deflated, tagged up and in the bag in record time. We get back to Brooks as the front slips by us to the west and we stay dry for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
