Passengers: Adam Miles, Jackie Domme
We had a day off yesterday, needed it to give… the old gear… and ME a rest! The winds have lightened up so I call for the Keizer site on the river for today’s private flight. We have a bit of “funky” ceiling this morning but I think it will burn off after the sun burns through. The “gang” gets the balloon out, stretched out, and starts the pump up. Cecil adds the heat for us and we are ready for the passengers to board. We are off the lot and the “adventure” begins. We drift across the river to the southeast at an easy pace. Over by the Fowler pit I spot the grandkids are camped out for the “last blast” of August before school kicks in soon. We get the push from west and cross back over the river into Keizer then get a brief swing to the south. Jackie is really getting into the flight and soon I point out the “biggest” bowling pin in the valley. I drop down a bit in altitude and we swing back to the west for a bit. When I dropped lower we swung to the east and I have a shot for our LZ (landing zone) at the State Fairgrounds. When I set the shot we get some push to the east so this will NOT be our LZ today. I’m looking for a LZ and Englewood school oar park looks possible but not today and I have the “gang” move to the ‘D’ street lot for today. We get there, set the shot….get on the ground and get the balloon back in the bag.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Adam: “The trip was great! And such a beautiful view.” Jackie: “So glad we did it, so much fun! A great experience, thank you guys!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
