Passengers: Jeff Lee & Jennifer Fleming

We are again back at the Brooks site for a “surprise” (she thinks just a balloon ride) for Jennifer, it will turn out to be a bit more than just a RIDE. We have a beautiful fall morning with just a hint of “moors fog” on the ground as we get the balloon out of the bag, hooked up and pumped full of cold air. Jennifer evens joins us at the throat to help out. Cecil adds the heat and we are standing tall so I call for the “kids” to come on board and we are off the field and the “adventure begins”. We have a sharp push at the lower altitude to the west (see TRACK below) which won’t work here so I opt to go higher and I find the push to the south that I need. Jeff has really filled our “plate” today as the gang on the ground has to meet the “BAND” (who has been hiding out of site) after we took off and be sure they follow the chase to be at the LZ at the end to serenade Jennifer with Jeff in the lead. We have some beautiful puffy clouds to play with as we drift toward Keizer . As we approach the end of the hour Jeff points out that Inland Shores is where they will move too soon so I drop there for a closer look and catch that hook to the west that we had earlier and it will put us toward an open field on Willow Lake Rd. The push to the west is stronger so we miss the field by ONE house but the gang catches us and give us a short tow to the field for the upcoming “show”. The band arrives on cue, then Jeff gets out joining them and the song (check video link below) begins. This part of the “surprise” has really got Jennifer’s attention as well as the local neighbors. At the end of the song Jeff call her out to him and does the “knee” thing and she said YES. We get the balloon down and packed up, the passengers do the sit and we head back to Finney for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
