September 12, 2013 Passengers: Ryan & Brittany Reid, Barbara & Leo Grass The winds have shifted a bit from yesterday so I call for the west site today. We have 2 couples today, a Birthday gal and an Anniversary couple. The “gang” gets the balloon out, the air started in then Cecil adds the heat for us. I call for the passengers to come on board and we are off the lot and on our way to the east, northeast. It’s over some small farm patches then on toward the ponds at the Cemex operation. Past the ponds we are in the Marion berry fields for a bit then up over the tree line and on the river. We drift along the river a bit and get a nice reflection shot off the water. We pass Sunset Park then climb over the trees into the Keizer area. We are closing in on one of my favorite landing spots at the daycare center. Once we cross over River Road I’ll have a shot at the field behind the house. Once I get a view of the field I see that it has been plowed up so the gang will have to catch us then tow us to the east end for the lay down and pack up. The passengers do the “sit” and we load up and head back for the picnic. I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
