Passengers: Shane Kenney, Paul Kluting, Ian Krohn, Tamara & Tim Kiel

Mother Nature has been really “fussy” the entire month! We have lost 50% (5 out of 10 days) of our scheduled flights but today will be the first. I call for the Keizer area for the meet and after the pi-ball I move us to the Middle School parking lot as the start point. The “gang” gets the balloon out and hooked up for the inflation, when full and standing I call for the passengers to come on board. It’s off the parking lot and the “adventure” has begun. The primary reason for today’s flight is so Tim can scratch this item off his bucket list a gift to all on board from his sister, Tamara. We have really light winds up top so it looks like we will see a lot of Keizer today as we “zig & zag” across the city several times (be sure to look at the TRACK). To hunt for some kind of breeze I go high, for me up to twenty five hundred feet and only find a RV-7 up here and still not much movement. The hour is closing in on us so I make the first shot for Kennedy School and miss as we slide east of it during the descent. Down lower we get to see some of the “color change” that is taking over with the fall weather. We cross over the Parkway and I-5 putting us into “Indian” territory and some good LZ’s (landing zones) for this morning. I miss a good spot as the winds low are all over the map and we cross Chemawa Road toward the “pumpkin patch” across the street today. We drop low for a rope drop and the gang tows us to the road behind the patch for the lay-down and pack up.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

PASSENGER COMMENTS:
Shane: “It was a great first time and will be one to remember. I learned to be a tree hugger.”
Paul: “Awesome flight just loved it.”
Ian: “Was a great time. We couldn’t get to a landing spot but it was just a longer ride for us. Thank you so much!”
Tamara: “I had an awesome time and was glad that I was able to help my brother Tim with his bucket list. A bit scary on the landing but our pilot and crew were great. Thank you all!”
Tim: “I had lots of fun and was able to check this off the bucket list.”

A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Ed, Mike, JoAnn, Molly, Lance, Brett & Jackson
