Passengers: Dave Walery, Marsha Stallings, Terry Snyder, Chad Cripe, Tasha Walery, Cooper Cripe
Today is a BIRTHDAY surprise flight for a good friend of ours and “chef” of the Famous Walery’s Pizza….Dave Walery. Marsha the “organizer” of this “ambush” wants us to “sneak” into the back yard (in the dark) and set up the gear as part of the surprise. We accomplish the “mission” and catch Dave (the birthday boy) completely by surprise! The gang gets to work on the balloon in the morning mist and soon we are pumped up and ready for some heat. We are up and standing and it’s time to get the guests on board. It’s really cool this morning (42*) so with this load (6 adults and 1 child) the heat needed to get the air dried out and warm enough for “lift off” is welcomed by passengers and CREW alike. We are on a “tight” timeline today as we aren’t the only “surprise” that’s in store for Dave today. We have some thin, patchy ground fog around the area but as the sun comes up it will burn off quickly. We have very light winds so the passengers have ample time to soak up the welcome heat from the sun as we drift toward Keizer. I spot our LZ for today, a friendly school play field and have the gang move there for the catch. While the GANG takes down the balloon I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Tim, Ed, Beth, Mackenzie, Molly, Brett & Lance
