Passengers: Caitlin Lewis & James Eldriege
Today we return to a launch site that we haven’t used for a while (property was sold and needed to work with new owners) but we are back to site ‘E’ in the Brooks area once again. The gang gets the balloon out and starts the pump up and we are on our way before 6:30 to the south at and easy 3-4 MPH. We are in the farm country for the first half of the flight then start to approach the edge of Keizer proper then we “spook” out the deer family, dad in the lead followed by mom and baby. We slip past our friend Dave Wallery’s house then cross over the gang staged on River Road. Up high we have a drift to the east so I hold here until I get a line on the first LZ’s (landing zone) for today. I have 3 in a row, a park and 2 schools; I should be able to get one of them. I set the shot for Gubser School and as I get tree top we are shoved off to the west and miss this one. I take advantage of this push and move the gang to the Million dollar lot off river road and once over the trees and lines send down the drop line for the catch. We get the balloon packed, the bag sat on and head back for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Caitlin & James: “Thank you so much for the once in a lifetime experience! With all your great stories and hospitality it was such a perfect day with amazing views. Now my fiancé and I can cross this off our bucket list!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
