Passengers: Kevin & Kathy Orton and Marco Romero & Favi Alvarado
Today is another betrothal l flight but unlike most it’s NOT a private one. Favi is the only one in this group that’s “in the dark” as to the mornings activities. The “Gang” gets to work on the balloon and today we do have a gang with 3 adults and 3 very active pre-teens. The balloon is ready and standing so it’s time to get the passengers on board. After we lift off I get a closer look at the cloud formations that are moving in and we may see something develop later this PM. We drift slowly to the east over the gravel pits and head toward the river. Marco has a “special” request for his betrothal in that we made up a little banner that the gang will spread it out in a Park by the river and we will fly to it so Favi can read it. I’m amazed…the plan works and Marco is at the ready with the ring and she said YES to boot! We drift toward Keizer and it’s time to find a place to park for today. I will use a school today and the gang move in for the setup as we drift there. I make it to the ball field and we get towed back to the track for the take down. The gang gets the balloon tagged and then the sit is done and we load up and head back for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Kevin & Kathy: “Wonderful experience, friendly crew and Jim (the pilot)is a great character.” Marco: “Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! The pilot and team were great. They even helped out with my proposal!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
