Passengers: Sue Short, Sharon Viehdorfer, Scott Gallant, Ozzie Rose
I call for the school site out north today and the gang gets the balloon out and pumped up. I call for the passengers to board and we are off the field. As we gain some altitude we drift the opposite direction that the pi-ball went as we head out to the west. This is NOT the direction that I planned on as we are into HEAVY cropped area, berry fields that are being picked as we pass by and green bean fields that are being harvested too. I do all I can to find some south but to no avail and we will be crossing the river so I send the “gang” to the ferry to get ahead of us. We slip by to the north past a beautiful harvested grass field that we have used before then I spot a nice cow pasture without cows and the gang gets permission from the owner but we get shoved off that one too. We are approaching Wallace Road and just past it is a bean field and grass fields both have been harvested, I miss the bean field and send the gang to the grass field for the catch. When I drop for the shot we get back drafted to the corn field and the gang has to come get us and we have to jump the “highline” to get to the LZ . We get the balloon deflated, tied up and the passengers do the “sit”.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Ozzie: “Thank you for the great ride and balloon history lesson.” Scott: “Jim & Gang; It’s been great fun, what a delight!” Sharon: “Jim thanks for a great flight, the fun stories and the champagne!” Sue: “Thank you Jim! This was something I’ve always wanted to do & it was amazing!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
