Passengers: Long Khuu & Vanessa Chan, Dallas Northcott, Mackenzie Foster

I call for the north site today and the pi-ball confirms that this spot will work for today. The “gang” gets the balloon out and pumped up and the passengers get on board. We are off the field and drifting slowly to the south past the tree farm and the hop fields. The track is pretty straight as we drift to the south toward Keizer just east of River Road N. I have a line on our first LZ, a school but as I set the shot we get shoved to the west and miss it so the next one is the million $$ lot and now we get shoved to the east and miss it too. The next LZ is Don Earle’s grass seed field but It has yet to be harvested so we need to treat it gently if we use it. I use the top branches of an oak to take off some speed and we are caught between the windrows. We get the balloon deflated and the “sit” done and leave the field with the landowners blessing. We head back to the school for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.

PASSENGER COMMENTS:
Long: “Thank you for a great first time ballooning.”
Vanessa: “I had a lot of fun, thank you!”
Dallas: “Wonderful trip, thank you!”
Mackenzie: “I loved going up in the balloon even if it is my first time!”

A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Cecil, Beth & Mackenzie
