Passengers: B. J. Toewe, John Goodyear, Will Latham
The upper winds have held for a few days so we are again in Brooks for the launch site. We have a light load today so crewman Will gets the “ballast” ride today. The gang gets the balloon out of the bag, filled with cold air then Cecil gets the heat in and we are standing. I call for the passengers to get on board; we are off the field and head to the north? I climb a bit higher and get the track back to the south as I was hoping for. I would like to get a bit closer to Keizer so B.J. could get a look at her house on the lake at Inland Shores but the winds are dying off and we are on the hour. The gang has staged on the Zielinski property and I set the shot for a cleaned field. When we get low the wind back tracks and the boys have to give us a tow down a muddy road and to the next field. We get the balloon deflated, tagged up and in the bag for the “sit”.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: B. J.: “What a ride! A beautiful morning, a great pilot, lots of interesting information and even a view of my home. Thanks for a wonderful flight.” John: “I agree with B.J. a wonderful morning, great ride and great company!” Will: “I was so in awe of how beautiful it was I could barley speak. Totally different perspective from catching (the balloon) and being caught. Great job guys and thanks Jim!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Cecil, Tim Will, Brandon
