September 7, 2014 Passengers: Shay, Donna & Kipp Moore The winds have shifted a bit and have become rather calm up top so I will use the West Salem site today. We get to work on the balloon, filled with air and Cecil will add the heat for us. We load up the passengers and are off the parking lot as the sun burns a RED hole in the morning sky. The winds up top are really calm as we drift to the north for a few minutes then to the west and up to the top of the ridge. Then we double back on our own track and head to the east toward Salem Town. We slip past the golf course and into farm country and the gang has staged on the edge of a plowed corn field. We are out of wind so the gang comes to tow us to the grass field next door for the lay down and pack up. We load up and head to the park for the picnic. I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented. PASSENGER COMMENTS: The Moore’s: “What a terrific time flying high in the sky. Jim was a treat…a wonderful man with non stop stories.
