Passengers: Virginia Eversole, Anne Ferguson, Amy Grenz, Jean & Jim Lorenz
We have had some rain and fogged out flights the last couple of days but today looks better so I call for us to meet in Keizer. I kick out a test balloon (pi-ball) and it tells me to move a bit more to the south so we relocate to the school. We use the street behind the school for the set up and soon we are ready for some hest. We get the passengers loaded up and are off the street to the north at an easy pace. I climb up to altitude and take a look at the fog situation and we are heading the right direction to avoid it to the west. We are moving right along up high (12 MPH up to 14) so once out of town I drop lower to take the speed back to 3/5 which is more workable. Once we cross over Brooklake I spot the LZ for this morning an open field next to the trucking company. I set the shot and we land un-assisted with 2 TRACKbumps and a hop as the gang comes around the corner. We get the balloon down, packed up and in the bag. It’s back to City Hall for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Jean: “Great ride and we beat the fog!” Jim: “Great ride and interesting commentary, thanks.” Anne: “A very smooth ride! Thank you for the great brunch” Amy: “Thank you for a fantastic ride and we landed just in time to beat out the fog. Thanks again!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Cecil, Tim, Ed, Jerry
