We have a Birthday flight today (Mom) and the entire family is coming along. I toss out a pi-ball to check the winds and we will stay in Brooks today. The “gang” gets the balloon out and we get the cold air pumped in then Cecil adds the heat for us. It’s time to get the passengers on board and we are off the field drifting to the south. We creep up on the ponds and I mention that sometimes I’ll dip us in the water but Tammy wants to keep her feet dry so all we get is a reflection photo. We continue to the south and cross over the “shelf” on the edge of the “bottoms” at Wheatland Road. Tammy’s brother lives just ahead on Quniby Road but we won’t make it there so he jumps in his truck and comes to see us. We have a good track to our first LZ and the gang moves to the school for the catch. The boys tow us past the bike racks and we will use the front parking lot for the take down and pack up. The passengers do the sit and we load up and head back to Finney for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
