It’s again back to Brooks as we are in the summer wind pattern and the pi-ball confirms this location. The “gang” pulls out the balloon as the sun starts to break over the trees. We pump in the cold air and Cecil puts in the heat then we call for the passengers to get on board. We are off the field and the “adventure” has begun. We head toward the ponds at the gravel pits and I set us up for a nice reflection shot then “sneak in” a quick water landing as a surprise. We cross over Brooklake as the chase rig catches up with us. As the passengers are settling in we continue to drift to the south and the edge of Keizer. Just past the golf course I spot the LZ (landing zone) for today a field we use often next to the clinic. The gang is on the spot as the slow drift carries us to them for the catch. We tow the balloon to the parking lot for the take down and pack up. We get the “sit” done and load up for the short drive back to Finney for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
