Passengers: & Dave & Marge Kemper, Sam Buxman & Adri Thomas
Winds forecast for this morning are light so I call for the central Keizer site and after the pi-ball release I move us to the school to use the parking lot. We get the balloon filled with cold air and when ready Cecil does the up for us. We got out of the way just in time as the soccer fans take over the lot as we took off. Al the fields are full and the track takes us north, low then south higher then north again higher. After a few minutes the passengers start to “settle in” to the wonder of a balloon flight. We spend the early part of the flight over Keizer then drift into farm country and the landing spot will be a challenge. I cross over into the bottoms and call for the “gang” to meet us at DZ’s new hazelnut orchard. This is far from ideal but a dirt road is the ONLY option we have today so I set the shot and the guys catch us and tow us to the road. We cone up the balloon as tight as we can then drop it on the road. We get the balloon back in the bag and load up for the drive back to the park for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Dave & Marge: “A beautiful morning and a wonderful ride. Thanks!” Adri & Sam: “Thank you for making this wedding gift so special. We loved the views and the fun crew! We hope this won’t be our last balloon ride”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Cecil, Tim
