Passengers: Michelle Contras, Kristin Contras, Mike & Arel Grimshaw
The first weekend in August is looking good as I call for the Brooks site for today’s starting point. The gang gets the gear out and assembled, we pump in the cold air and when full Cecil gets us off the ground and standing tall. We get the passengers on board and lift off the tarmac and drift slowly off to the south and the Knife River ponds and then over the tree farm. We drift into Keizer and slip past Clear Lake School but it’s just a bit early to land so we continue on toward Gubser School but miss that one by about a half block. I call for Whiteaker School as the LZ and the gang are in the field waiting for us when I drop in. The grass is very wet as they are trying to repair all the summer soccer damage so we get a tow to the parking lot for a nice dry spot to pack up. We get Starship back in the bag, the passengers do the “sit” and we load up for the trip back to Finney for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Kristin: “Such a wonderful experience with wonderful people. Thank you!” Michelle: “So much fun! This was so peaceful!” Mike & Arel: “We loved it! So peaceful, beautiful and relaxing!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
