Passengers: Diane Tunnell, Ruby Johnson, Mary Gomoll, Delphine Crawford
We are again out in Brooks as the winds are light and out of the north. We have a “ton” of crew today and a basket full of gals that have been rescheduled more times that I care to admit to. We get the gear off the truck and start the pump up with cold air then Cecil puts in some heat and we are ready for the ladies to come on board. We are off the tarmac and drifting toward the ponds at Knife River. Once past the ponds we drift slowly to the south over the farm lands, nurseries and tree farms. We arrive into Keizer about the same time as the chase crew and it’s time to set up for a landing attempt. I call for the 2 million dollar field off River Road and the first drop down is to far east so I have to reset with more altitude and this will work. The gang is there for the catch, we get the balloon tagged and ready for the bag. The passengers do the sit and we load up and head back for the picnic.
I get the story started, the toast is done and the certificates are presented.
PASSENGER COMMENTS: Diane: “It was fun getting HIGH with you, thanks.” Ruby: “Oh what a ride. Thank you all for the nice safe ride and landing.” Delphine: “Thanks for the ride.” Mary: “Well worth the wait, so much fun!”
A BIG thank you to today’s Crew (I can’t get in the air or back on the ground without’um)
Nick, Ed, Willow, Cecil, Tim, Molly & Joe
